Dr Stephen Douglas is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, providing specialised care for hip and knee conditions. With a commitment to enhancing patient well-being through expert care, Dr Douglas consults locally in Ballina at St Vincent’s Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital.  

As a member of the Northern Rivers community, he is known for his approachable nature and personalised treatment plans aimed at improving the quality of life for his patients. 
 
Educational Background and Training 
 
Dr Douglas graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, at the University of London in 2006. Stephen initially practised as a junior orthopaedic doctor in the UK, gaining valuable experience before relocating to Australia in 2013. He completed his orthopaedic training in Sydney and regional NSW, further honing his skills and expertise. 

In 2023, Dr Douglas completed a hip and knee arthroplasty fellowship at Gold Coast University Hospital, where he received advanced training in state-of-the-art surgical techniques, including robotic surgery and sports knee injury management.
